Ways to Handle Stress



Each of us has our own way in handling stress. And for me, my way of handling stress is not always the same.

I might

too much until there is no room for food anymore in my stomach, but sometimes I could not even swallow any food because of stress. It depends...

One of my lecturer used to asked in class, "What do you guys do when you are under stress?"

And the first person to answer that question was ME!

My answer was

And she was quiet surprised. She said, how can someone even fall asleep when they are under stress? The answer is simple. You cry out loud until you fall asleep (I said to myself)

But sometimes, when I think too much I could not even fall asleep even a wink. Seriously! When I was doing my Diploma, I have some sleeping problem. I could not sleep during the day, and even at night! Maybe because of the weather or maybe I just think too much. Some of my friends suggest that I make myself busy during the day so then when at nights, I will feel tired and easy to fall asleep. But, it did not work! I would stay up late watching television (alone) until there was no show at all on the television (national television not Astro, okay). Then, I would go upstairs to my bed. But, still I could not sleep. I have tried everything. I did try counting the sheep you know. Now, I don't have that kind of problem anymore. It just cure just like that. Thanks to the break up I guess (thanks to you Mr Ex Boyfriend)

That lecturer of mine said that if she was under stress, she like to drive. She said, "I just don't get it why people tend to drive so slow. I drive pretty fast especially when I was under stress".

For girls, like me, I tend to share my problems with friends. They don't need to solve my problems, being a good listener is just okay. And sometimes, they can give us a clear picture of the whole problem, and give some suggestions on how to solve it. That is what FRIENDS are for, right?

  1. aku sama cam madam ko. bila stress, drive laju2. tekan pedal minyak sampai rapat pastu overtake semua kete. puas hati. bila stress, aku memang takkan buleh makan. nak hilang stress lama plak tu. bila dah hilang baru perut krok krokk kelaparan haha
